You know what time it is!! After our board meetings, we head right into deliveries 🚚 Brian, Jake’s dad, is hard at work building this adaptive bike that just arrived. He will check all the brakes and all the settings before we deliver it, so it’s ready to go for our JHFH families ❤️

Last week we had our third Board of Directors meet

Last week we had our third Board of Directors meeting of 2024 and it was our first meeting after making our sustainability changes! Now, we’re looking forward to all the deliveries coming up and seeing those smiles from our JHFH family ❤️

We have worked with the Coonrad family for years. We love supporting both Khye and Linkin and love that we can purchase equipment that keeps them safe while still allowing them to be kids! ❤️

We ❤️ when we can partner with other organizat

We ❤️ when we can partner with other organizations to have the biggest impact possible for our applicants. We have worked with Emmie‘s family for many years and they applied to us for support with a bathroom remodel. Since they live in Saratoga county we were able to approach our friends at @rtsaratoga, and we got the job done!

Emmie’s mom said

“We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude & appreciation to Jake’s Help from Heaven as well as Rebuilding Saratoga. With the install of the handicap shower , we are now able to safely bathe Emmie without risking injury to her or ourselves. It has been life changing.

Thank you again for all of the wonderful things your organization has done for Emmie through these last few years. We would not be able to care for Emmie at home safely without some of the resources your team has provided us with. We are blessed to be part of the Jakes family & community.”

At JHFH we believe in supporting those in our JHFH family through the end. We recognize the hardest part of the work we do is that the population we work with is medically fragile and loss can be a part of our journey. We also know the difficulties associated with unexpected losses, so we provide one final support to our families ❤️

We have been supporting Kyriae since 2012. She ha

We have been supporting Kyriae since 2012. She has a very complex medical life and is seen by many specialists at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We often purchase or reimburse for medical supplies, particularly for her tracheostomy care.

Most recently, Kyriae and her grandmother, her primary caregiver, have spent a lot of time at CHoP due a pancreatic tumor.

After two more JHFH clients passed away (for a total of 4 this summer), we all needed a little extra bit of positivity and it arrived via email 💌

“My name is James (Jimmy) DeGarmo and I am 46. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and I am a quadriplegic. I have been in a wheelchair my entire life. My ramp at home needed to be replaced and with the help of my mother who takes care of me full-time, I was approved for your grant. Jake’s Help From Heaven Grant has made it possible for me to have a new wheelchair ramp built so I can safely get in and out of my home. I am extremely grateful to you and your family for such a generous donation to help make this possible. I have attached receipts and pictures of my new ramp and myself. Thank you again for everything.”

This has been a difficult summer for us here at JH

This has been a difficult summer for us here at JHFH. We just learned of the passing of another one of our beloved applicants, Brock, passed away last Thursday. We worked with him and his family for the last four years and are sending them all of our thoughts and love during this difficult time ❤️

At the root of our work at JHFH is @heathersstraughter channeling her grief for good to honor Jake and have an impact in the community. While that work continues, the next chapter includes A Place of Yes 🎙️

Yesterday’s guest @anniesklaverorenstein shared parts of her grief from losing her brother and how it differs for everyone. Even with her other sibling, she found that they both carry their grief in different ways. The complexity of grief shared between Heather and the guests on APOY opens up conversations that we all didn’t know we needed.

And if you’ve listened to APOY, you know Heather’s mission to bring Jake into every room + conversation is still at the center of it all ❤️

It it with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Tayvion. His smile and joy for life was evident in every photo and video shared by his family and we will miss the light he shined into the world. ❤️

We love to support our applicants in a myriad of ways ❤️ We are big believers in all the various forms of physical therapy and ways in which we can help them get stronger!

Layla was born with many medically complex issues and we have been working with her and her family for the last several years with swim lessons. 🏊‍♀️ She is becoming more and more independent and stronger each year. We are so proud of her and are here for her successes 🫶

Tomorrow’s episode of A Place of Yes has been a long time coming. This project has been in the works since the very beginning of our podcast when we started having conversations with some @jakeshelp board members!!

At first we were exploring what being on the board meant to them, but we ended up with some deep conversations about why they are so connected to the work we do at JHFH.

This board is more than just a board, we truly are a family working to make a difference in the lives of others.

I hope you will listen as a few of our board members share personal stories from their own grief journeys and their ‘why’ behind being part of our Board at JHFH ❤️

It was such a treat to visit with Riley and his mo

It was such a treat to visit with Riley and his mom on Friday afternoon. We have worked with the family since 2016 but have not seen them in person since 2018!!

Riley has mitochondrial disease and as he has gotten older, it has had a pretty significant impact on his ability to attend school and to be out in the world. He fatigues very easily and is severly immune-compromised.

When he was younger, we purchased for him wheelchairs that helped him stay active and involved with his friends and we just recently purchased him gaming computer! Since Riley spends a lot of time at home, this is something that he is very interested in pursuing as a career.

It was a real pleasure to visit with him and see his smile ❤️
